Yelling At Clouds is a Toronto-based creative music project featuring long-time friends and musical collaborators, keyboardist/pianist David Chan and drummer/percussionist Larry Graves. The duo is propelled by a 15-year friendship that has seen them through numerous musical endeavours, including cross-Canada and international tours, several recording projects with a variety of ensembles (eg. Mr. Something Something, DRUMHAND, Surefire Sweat) and a long list of music education-based efforts (school & community performances/workshops).
The duo’s music draws on original compositions and creative interpretations of repertoire from some of their favourite musicians, from various musical traditions, as vehicles for in-the-moment improvisations and lyric narratives. The sounds blend rhythmic and ambient multi-percussion, piano, keyboards, and vocal textures, weaving together something new from familiar roots.
