A short bio on Robert:
“Robert Keyes has been playing professionally since the age of 14. His early influences were Joe Pass, Django Reinhardt, Lenny Breau and Chet Atkins and Jimi Hendrix.
He has primarily focused on the art of solo fingerstyle guitar. The chords, bass lines and melody are all played simultaneously, thus creating the illusion that there’s more than one guitarist playing.
Robert plays many different styles including jazz, blues, contemporary, country, classical, folk, etc. He weaves from genre to genre, depending on his mood and the general feel he gets from the audience.
During his time in the States, he played with Lyle Lovett and Sir John McVie of Fleeetwood Mac fame.
In Canada, a few of the more notable artists he has performed with are Hagood Hardy, Guido Basso and Holly Cole.
Even though Robert’s music is instrumental in nature, it is far from sleepy-time background noodling.”
