$85 + HST & Gratuity

YOU’VE GOT A FRIEND: A Musical Tribute to CAROLE KING and JAMES TAYLOR returns to the Cove Inn on Friday, October 23rd, 2026!

Such as successful band, we just have to have them back, again! “You’ve Got a Friend” is a classic James Taylor/Carole King show made up of a collection of Kingston area musicians, all with an incredible depth of musical talent and experience, as well as a great love of James Taylor’s and Carole King’s music.

Anna Sudac now co-leads the band on vocals as an incredible force of energy and talent! She is a versatile Kingston-based vocalist, actor, songwriter and theatre-maker whose career crosses music, comedy and live performance. A graduate of Sheridan College’s Musical Theatre Performance program, she has become a familiar voice on the Kingston arts scene, performing with The Gertrudes, Foster, Shea & Sudac, Georgette Fry & Friends, and as a featured vocalist in productions celebrating artists such as Etta James, Motown, Carole King and James Taylor. Equally at home on stage as an actor and comedian, Anna brings a distinctive combination of powerful vocals, theatricality and humour to everything she does.

Doug Reansbury is a veteran of the pub and folk festival circuits since the late 1970’s. He has a smooth, articulate guitar style that has seasoned over time. A stickler for sound, Doug tries to envelope the audience in a warm blanket of sound.

Jamie Campbell is a local singer-songwriter who has played for over 20 years with local original vocal trio Fireweed, as well as toured and written with Quebec artist Roch Voisine during his heydays in the 80s and 90s.

Bass player Zak Colbert was born in Buffalo, New York and is a self-taught musician who has toured with various show bands in the 70s and 80s, recorded with local artists Georgette Fry and Blue Monday and has completed many other studio sessions with local artists. He regularly plays with Miss Emily now. He has also taught and coached music at his home, Renaissance Music and at St. Lawrence College.

Ken Hall is a keyboard-playing staple of the music scene in Kingston since the 1970s. Ken has performed with various artists, including Emily Fennell, Georgette Fry, Cliff Edwards, Jenica Raine, Dan Aykroyd, Laura Smith and Blue Monday. Ken also has extensive recording experience with many local artists.

Drummer Duncan Holt is the owner and engineer at Concept Audio, a major Kingston-based recording studio. Duncan has toured and played with local band “The Rain Kings” for years and has extensive experience playing with and producing local bands.

Ian Kojima is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist (saxophone, flute, keyboards, guitar, vocals) whose career spans major figures in Canadian and international pop, rock, and R&B. He first appeared in Toronto’s early-1970s funk scene with Rick James and Great White Cane, who recorded and performed then toured as an opener for B.B. King. In the late 1970s, Kojima joined The Stampeders during their stylistic shift on the Platinum album, contributing saxophone and flute to a horn-driven move toward funk and R&B. His most sustained international work came with Chris de Burgh, as a touring and recording musician on albums including Man on the Line and the multi-platinum Into the Light, which featured the global hit “The Lady in Red.” De Burgh has described Kojima as a rare multi-instrumental “utility” player capable of covering saxophone, keyboards, guitar, and vocals. Kojima has also worked with Canadian acts including The Raes and Ken Tobias, and remains active in the Kingston-area music scene playing with The Fade Kings, Kim Pollard Band and Georgette Fry!

“You’ve Got a Friend” covers the music from Carole King’s famous Tapestry album, as well as many of James Taylor’s classic songs from throughout his extensive career.
