JAZZ NIGHT FUNDRAISER for Art by the Lake on Thu.Jun.11 9-11pm!!!

Come and support the First Inaugural ART BY THE LAKE WESTPORT Event which will take place Fri.Jul.3 from 6-9 pm (Invitational Only) + Sat.Jul.4 from 10-4pm Westport Lions Club Beach, Sand Lake

The following is information on the event:

David Church and Delvalle and the Westport Arts Council have assembled a select group of exceptional artists to take part in a unique and new, invitational juried Visual Arts show, “Art by the Lake Westport.  The show will feature 19 well respected professional artists from the Westport and the surrounding areas. It will take place at the edge of the Village of Westport, ON at the Lions Club beach house by Sand Lake on July 4th from 10 am to 4 pm.

As a prelude to the event the Cove Inn will have a Jazz Night Fundraiser on Thursday, June 11th from 8-11 pm.

The art exhibit will begin Friday evening (by invitation only) with an indoor Gallery and Meet the Artist show in the beach house.  Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served while enjoying entertainment by local musicians.  We will also be featuring a silent art auction with the proceeds going to art in our local schools and “Art by the Lake; Westport”.

The event will continue on Saturday with white tents on the beach grounds of Sand Lake and artists will exhibit a larger selection of their work.  Music will also be performed throughout the day by Westport area performing artists. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet and purchase art directly from the artists on Friday evening as well as throughout the day Saturday.

This show will truly be an event that highlights and accentuates the ARTS in WESTPORT and AREA.  The backdrop of Sand Lake will serve as a reminder of the splendour of nature found in our area.

JAZZ NIGHT with SPENCER EVANS TRIO The Cove Inn hosts one of the most original and memorable Live Music Experiences you’ll have! The Popular Spencer Evans Trio with Rob Radford on drums, Seamus Cowan on bass and Spencer Evans on piano, clarinet and vocals has proven a formidable three performing all styles of music to huge crowds of all ages. Spencer plays piano, clarinet, accordion, sings, dances, prances and has been a professional musician for the past 15 years. He has played Bermuda to Bosnia, New Orleans to the North Pole, and has recorded and toured with The Cowboy Junkies, Sarah Harmer and Pat Temple, and has performed with Jeff Healey, Dan Aykroyd, Willie P. Bennett, Jack Mahieu, Alex Pangman, Maria Muldaur, and Toronto’s Swing Gang, among countless others. Spencer has appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CBC Radio’s The Vinyl Café with Stuart McLean, MUCHmusic and CMT. A resident of Kingston for several years, Spencer keeps busy playing with numerous local bands such as Bloom, Pico de Gallo, Ghetto Xpress, The River Cats and various jazzy combos. SEAMUS COWAN plays the low bass and sings the high notes…Kind of strange but it works. Has played all kinds of music in his career so he fits right in. ROB RADFORD has a solid synergy with the boys. His drumming is some of the best around and his ferocity is difficult to tame, behind the kit that is. Together, the trio are a powerful combination. Enjoy them weekly in the summer months!
