ENTERTAINMENT & SPECIAL EVENTS
If you’re looking for some music to spice up your time in Westport, The Cove is the place for you to set yourself down. We bring in the best we can find and keep a healthy mix on rotation. From Blues to Jazz, Rock to Folk, Country to Bluegrass, Soul to Funk, we love it all. In the warmer months, larger performances and full band shows take place on our Lounge stage while solos, duos and small groups play to the patio crowds. When it gets cooler, all shows happen in the Lounge.

Head over Heels joined forces with the Blue Monday band in 2018 and 2019 for the Limestone City Blues Festival.

The Blue Monday Band
Blue Monday, was a hard-driving blues quintet who had long-term appointments at The Wellington (now the Iron Duke), The Shot and, lastly, The Toucan. The band was founded by saxophonist Rick Flanagan, and fronted by Grant “Honeyboy” Heckman. Bass player Zak Colbert, drummer/vocalist Mike Sakell and keyboardist Ken Hall soundly round out the band.
Rick Flanagan – Saxophone, Vocals
He has also performed with the Fabulous Jaguars, Swing Cats, Soul Survivors and Up Jumped Da Blues. After five years in Memphis, playing with some of the best in the business, he returned to Kingston and formed The Big Phat Horn Band, a 10-piece group that recently celebrated their 6th Anniversary performing at the RCHA Club. A Blue Monday founder.
Zak Colbert – Bass
One of the most in-demand bass players in Kingston. The bacon of bass players…if you will. He toured with show bands in the 70s and 80s and has recorded and performed with Blue Monday, Georgette Fry, Ghetto Xpress, Up Jumped Da Blues, Ila Vann, Emily Fennell, Funkyard.
Ken Hall – Keyboards
Keyboard-playing staple of the Kingston music scene since the 1970s. Member of Blue Monday, Georgette Fry, Steve Cheesman & the Heeters, The Fabulous Jaguars, Emily Fennell (“You’ve Got a Friend”), Dan Aykroyd and more.
Mike Sakell – Drums, Vocals
King of the Shuffle, playing in no fewer than 6 different bands at any given time, Mike has been the backbeat/vocalist for Wild Blues Yonder, Blue Monday, Ghetto Xpress, Soul Survivor, Ila Vann, Up Jumped Da Blues, Funkyard and the Big Phat Horn Band and Blue Monday.
