ENTERTAINMENT & SPECIAL EVENTS
If you’re looking for some music to spice up your time in Westport, The Cove is the place for you to set yourself down. We bring in the best we can find and keep a healthy mix on rotation. From Blues to Jazz, Rock to Folk, Country to Bluegrass, Soul to Funk, we love it all. In the warmer months, larger performances and full band shows take place on our Lounge stage while solos, duos and small groups play to the patio crowds. When it gets cooler, all shows happen in the Lounge.
Always best to call ahead for reservations so you have a seat too! 613.273.3636

Celebration of the life of Diane Leduc-Doran
December 12, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
In recognition of our good friends, the Leduc-Dorans, James and Diane who run the Blues on the Rideau Series for 13 years, we are having a Celebration of the life of Diane Leduc-Doran.
Diane Marie Francoise Leduc-Doran died on November 20, 2017 in the ICU at Ottawa General Hospital after fighting a valiant battle against chronic End Stage Liver Disease and Lyme Disease over the past four years. She was on the List for a liver transplant at the UHN Transplant Clinic at the Toronto General Hospital but sadly a donor organ did not come through in time.
As per her wishes she is being cremated.
The Celebration will be on January 6, 2018 at The Cove Inn in Westport Ontario – a place close to the heart of Diane & James over the past 13 years of doing Blues On The Rideau there. www.coveinn.com
1-5 pm
Light food, drink and music. There will be an Open Mic for those who wish to say a few words about what Diane meant to them.
“Diane” – origins of the name come from an old Indo-European root meaning “heavenly, divine” “Someone who is amazingly beautiful, smart, funny, great to be around, and just overall perfect. They tend to be extremely pretty, irresistible and easy to fall in love with” – The Urban Dictionary
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the UHN Transplant Clinic at Toronto General or the Ottawa General Hospital Foundation with thanks to the many doctors, nurses and assistants who provided care to her especially over the past couple of months.

More importantly if you have not already done so be sure to register as an Organ/Tissue Donor and/or consider becoming a Living Donor. Even though Diane didn’t make it there is still time to save others.
