ENTERTAINMENT & SPECIAL EVENTS
If you’re looking for some music to spice up your time in Westport, The Cove is the place for you to set yourself down. We bring in the best we can find and keep a healthy mix on rotation. From Blues to Jazz, Rock to Folk, Country to Bluegrass, Soul to Funk, we love it all. In the warmer months, larger performances and full band shows take place on our Lounge stage while solos, duos and small groups play to the patio crowds. When it gets cooler, all shows happen in the Lounge.
Always best to call ahead for reservations so you have a seat too! 613.273.3636

BLUES ON THE RIDEAU @ THE COVE INN
Dinner & Show Fundraisers featuring some of Canada’s best Blues bands in support of local charities – now in its 11th year!
Born in Great Britain and raised in Hamilton, Ontario Jack got his start playing in a rockabilly group called The Bopcats. He joined the great Richard Newell (King Biscuit Boy)’s band in the 1980’s then formed his own group. His debut album “Hard Working Man” came out in 1991 and he’s followed that with 8 more since. He’s also in high demand as a Producer and session player having appeared on hundreds of other artists’ CD’s over the years including Etta James, Otis Rush, Ronnie Hawkins, Bo Diddley and Blue Rodeo. Jack has been nominated 5X for the Juno Award for Best Blues Album of the year and won it twice. He’s also received 7 Maple Blues Awards in the categories of Best Guitarist, Entertainer, Electric Act and Recording of the Year as well as the Blues With A Feeling Lifetime Achievement Award. Jeff Healey called him “the finest blues guitarist in Canada” and Bob Dylan, after seeing him play, said “If Jack de Keyzer was from Chicago, New York or L.A. he’d be famous!” He’s one of the hardest working Bluesmen in Canada averaging over 200 gigs a year and has played from the Artic Circle to Puerto Escondido Mexico, from Greece to Hornby Island B.C. This is Jack’s 7th visit to BOTR @ The Cove and he’ one of our favourites.
